The other day I told my friend that I didn’t really like the way my cheeks apple up when I smile.

She looked at me.

She sighed the sort of deep, fond sigh grandmothers reserve for babies.

"Oh my dear, sweet friend…" she sad.

She reached out to caress my face.

"…you are so…"

She tilted her head to one side and smiled.

"stupid."

When I first watched this show, I thought Tina would be a punching bag in the fashion of Meg Griffin.  She is, in her own words, a “smart, strong, sensual woman”.  Don’t get me wrong, she is the appropriate amount of award to properly depict a thirteen year old girl.

But dag-nam-it, she knows who she is.
